Why do dogs before they go to sleep go around in a circle?

OKay well when ever i see my dog beofre he goses to sleep he goes around in a circle. I heard on a movie, (CATS AND DOGS) the dog talked n shaid they didthat becasue they are makeing a sheald of nightmares n stuff go away. I need to know the truth.

    I think they are just trying to get a good spot to lay in and get comfortable.

    Haha my dog does it!
    What they are doing is making themselves comfy. They usually do it when they have a giant spongy cushion in their bed :P Dont worry, its normal.

    they are nesting or burrowing. my dog will walk around the covers and dig and kick them this way and that way so that she has the perfect spot to curl up in and the covers are all bunched the way she likes. a lot of dogs, especially little ones, love to curl up in blankets.

    It’s instinct. All dogs descend from wolves. Wolves do that to make a “nest.”

    Dogs are descendents of wolves. wolves cicle before laying down to stomp down twigs and pebbles so they arent poked by them when they sleep. its an instinct of all canines, including dogs.
