When mating dogs how long do you leave the bitch with the dog?

You’d think he would have done some research prior to this and not counted on random strangers on a message board. Hopefully it hasn’t worked.

Spay and neuter your dogs for goodness sakes. Don’t you know that there are hundreds of thousands of dogs in shelters waiting for homes? Why add to the overpopulation crisis? You make me sick! Your son obviously does not care about his animals, or he would have spayed and neutered them beforehand.

Two matings is sufficient, provided they are ‘good matings’. And if you allow them to mate over too many days, it’s difficult to know when the puppies are due (which mating was the one that took). If a b itch has taken, she’s taken, regardless of how many matings she has. No point wearing the poor lad out! Separate them until she’s out of season now.
I’m not going down the why? - but this wasn’t the best of ideas, necessarily!! Hope it all goes without a hitch and you read up on whelping and care of the litter because it does sound as if you are a novice?

You and YOUR supposed Son are disgusting. Neuter is what is done to male dogs, so how on earth could they have a litter of pups? YOUR son should be ashamed of himself. For every pup that the moron brings into the world, one will be euthanized in a shelter.

It would be best to seperate them now since they have tied 3 times. That should have done the trick.

well your supposed to stay with the dogs while they mate, if you leave and the male tries to pull out he could hurt himself and the female. seriously keep them seperated

ARGH!
Why do people think they should have one littler! They should not be tying 3 times in 2 days! Most BREEDERS put the stud to the bitch twice in 48 hours.
Tell him to do some research! And lets pray his bitch doesn’t die during the whelp - please tell me she is over two years?????
Get him to take her to the vets and get the mis mate injection and then get them both done!
