when do you start feeding dry food to puppies?

you can begin to introduce softened kibble at 4-5wks old. pour warm water over the dry puppy kibble to absorb and be sofened. this gives it a much more appealing smell and makes it very easy and safe for very young puppies to eat. it depends on the puppies when they will begin to eat it. but they will still depend on their mother’s milk for awhile.

6-8 weeks. start feeding it moisten as a supplement when the mothers milk starts running out.

Maybe at the age of 6 or so weeks,or at least when 7+ teeth are in.
Make sure you pour water over the food the first few weeks,It softens it up.
And I think they will be better off eating it wet also.

You should be letting them have hard dog food soaked in warm water at 4 weeks. But at that point it is just to supplement the mother’s milk. Not to take the place of it. Basically it’s just to let them explore the concept of food. They shouldn’t have their food completely dry until about 6 weeks. When they get five weeks you should be adding less and less water into the food until there is none. Also, puppy chow is crap. Don’t buy your pet foods at walmart or grocery stores. Go to pet stores and look for foods that has meat as the first two ingredients and the less grains it has is the better.
