What would make two dogs that use to get along start to fight?

I visit a friends house almost daily and I take my 2 dogs with me. My friend also has a dog. For months they have not had any problems but this week the bigger dog won’t leave the smaller dog alone. The two that aren’ t getting along are both female. What would cause this behavior to develop suddenly?

I think its a dominance issue. My neighbors had these two female boxers, who got along great, but eventually they wanted to establish dominance. They ended up getting in a huge fight, and my neighbors had to get rid of one of them.

Haemorrhoids. Get them both spayed. Everyone knows all dogs should be spayed.

Two bitches are going to be more competitive with each other than a male and a female would be. If one has just reached sexual maturity or if one is just coming into season, this can trigger a relationship problem. When two female dogs decide they don’t like each other it is often difficult to alter this.

Most same sex animals tend to not get along generally. But they are also prone to hold grudges against others, so maybe one of them did something, or maybe ones jealous or being protective of someone or something.

i would say it’s a dominance issue and not so much ‘fighting’. no, dogs don’t hold grudges.
are both females fixed? is only one? neither? that would make a huge difference.

A lot of times female dogs get into a fight because one is in heat or a male dog is around to prove that one is tougher,but my dogs have gotten into fights before. All you have to do is tell them no and keep them in separate sides of the room or keep up with your knowledge on if they’re in heat or on their period or any things like that or that relate to that.I really hope that my answer helped.

THE TWO FEMALES ARE COMPETING FOR THE MALE SINCE THE MALE HAS TAKEN AN INTEREST IN ONE MORE THEN THE OTHER THE GIRLS WILL FIGHT TO SHOW WHO IS THE BETTER FEMALE SOME TIMES ONE OF THE DOGS WILL SUBMIT GIVE UP AND LET THE MORE DOMINATING FEMALE RULE BUT IF BOTH ARE GETTING INTO THE FIGHT VICIOUSLY YOUR GOING TO HAVE TO KEEP THEM APART THERE IS NO WAY YOU WILL GET THE TO GIRLS BACK TO GETTING ALONG THERE IS A LITTLE CHANCE IF YOU TAKE THEM TO A CLASS TRAIN THEM TO GET REINTRODUCED SLIM CHANCE THOUGH
