ok.. id say definately a dog that does well in cold weather,a long haired one. and you will want to get the dog in la paz, not bring it with you. la paz has an extremely high altitude, and you'd be better off buying a dog that was born there, so it can adjust to the elevation on its own. Aubrey O

You may want to consider waiting 'til after you get there and get settled in before getting a dog. Not all societies are as welcoming of dogs as what you may be used to. Traveling with a dog can be very expensive and importing a dog may require quarantine. Do all of your research before you buy a dog! A quick look at the Bolivian Kennel Club site indicates that most of the breeds that you are probably familiar with are there.
Your dog, and you, will be happiest if you match the breed of dog to your lifestyle. Your dog will make you the center of its' universe so find a breed that enjoys your level and type of activities. George L

Any short haired dog that originated or was bred to work in warmer climates. I am not sure on specific dog names, so you would have to do research. A dog breed guide at the library would help. Good luck. Sierra M
