Believe it or not I have found the best toy for a teething miniature schnauzer to be a 20 oz plastic soda bottle!

It makes an interesting noise, it rolls and bounces in an erratic pattern, and it crunches when they chew it. Not only that they are cheap and readily available, I also consider it a form of recycling. :-)

Make sure that the bottle is totally empty and that the lid is screwed on really tight. If you don't drink soda, an empty water bottle works too. Just make sure that it is one of the heavier ones. You do need to keep an eye on the bottle and take it away when it starts getting frayed. They become very sharp when they start breaking up.

Kongs are great. We gave my dog a fake dog that used to be my brother's and it actually looked real. Puppy thought it was real. He got bigger & smarter and tore it up. It keeps them occupied for long enough though. Little squeaky balls are good too. Try Tennis balls also. Oh, and chew ropes. My dog always had a chew rope and his teeth are pearly white! I don't think that the toys like shoes or burgers work because what if he eats your shoe or your dinner one day? Have fun with your puppy!

The best toy in my opinion are rope. They can chew on it and it cleans their teeth. Using soft toys can end up back firing on you because your dog might up chewing up your pillows and other soft materials.

No toys that resemble shoes etc or one day you might he has confused his toy shoe with one of your real ones!

Kong toys or similar are quite good.

My BC loves rubber toys that he can gnaw on (he just gnaws and never destroys toys)

Squeaky animal toys like hedgehogs, bears, monkeys, balls and fake play food like hamburgers and hot dogs. Or another toy dog. Your dog might think it's a real dog and it will be entertained and occupied for hours. Hope this helps!
