They are smaller, but are pretty high energy, which would match an Aussie's energy just fine. We have the two, and they work fantastic together. Being from the same group (herding/working) they would have similar 'wants'--basically, herding. This would make it easier to understand them together, I guess, rather than having a dog that wants to herd and one that wants to point out birds all day long, but that's just my opinion. They CAN be somewhat yappy, but this can be a training issue as well. Read up on the breed, and see if they interest you. They are beautiful, small, and might be a great energy match for an Aussie. Maybe a Jack Russell Terrier, since they are small? Or perhaps a pretty Border Collie, which are around the same size to your AS, so no need to get worried of her getting run over. xD But I hope you wait a little longer before adding a new dog into your home; 10 months is still a pup, though hard to believe!
