Sandra asked: My german sherperd dog is already 10 months old. She is still very shy with other dogs. Even a very small size dog can chase her. If other dogs approach her aggresively, she submited immediately. I would like her to play with other dogs happily with confidence. Most dogs she met in off-leash park were very nice(not as aggressive as she thought). Please give me some tips on how to train her to be confident like a gsd should be.

I have a golden retriever mix. She used to be a very timid, submissive(to all other dogs) stray. Since my family and I rescued her she has totally come out of her shell and now is friendly to even strangers. Where I live dogs are off leash mostly and my dog is obediant and follows me and does what I tell her to do. After we fostered different puppies she realized that she could be dominant over them. Growled at them if they got too close to her food, nipped at them if they wanted to play and she didn’t, etc. Over time she has gotten it into her head that submissive puppies she wants to attack, and if a dog runs away when she runs at it she’ll chase after it growling and attack. However if the dog reacts differently and acts aloof to her she will sniff the dog politely and walk away and when she sees it again she’ll dance all around it and greet it enthusiastically. How do I change this behavior? Of course I can keep her on a leash and I do, but I want to change it not just stop it.
She’s such a great dog other than this and I love her a ton. She’s quick to learn tricks and to obey. When she gets used to a dog she’s nice to it. We still foster puppies and once she knows the puppy then she’s fine with it. But it she gets to know another puppy by attacking it every time she sees it she comes to hate that puppy and only want to attack it and be stupid some more.
And she doesn’t just attack dogs in her yard. Actually mostly it’s in neutral territory or even in the territory of the other dog, but the other dog is too timid or submissive to be bold enough to act like it’s in its own territory or is intimidated my my rather large dog.

She is a 10 month old Corgi, we also have another male corgi and they get along great. We go on walks at a leash free park and every time we meet another dog she starts barking like a maniac and becomes submissive and starts running away when the dog tries to sniff her. Then our other dog gets protective…
How do I get her to stop being so scared?
We usually try to sooth her when this happens but when we let her go (cuz she acts like she is ok) she goes nuts again…so we do it again and just sit with her until the other dog passes…
I just want to know how to help her get over this so we can have a normal walk.

Im not here asked:
I know they should be on the floor if they are in training for dominant behaviors, but after they have worked out their problems, shouldn’t they be allowed to sleep with the “pack”? I have a huge 100 lb four year old dog (very submissive to other dogs, children and people) and he loves to sleep with us, and sit on the couch with us. He does try to be the lap-dog sometimes (which is hilarious to see) but will listen when he is told to get down. He goes to sleep in my spot with my husband and when I go to bed he usually moves, sometimes he tries to test me, but will eventually move. Do you let your dog(s) get on the furniture why or why not?
details added for santitary reasons: I wash sheets/covers twice a week and we have a king size bed! …I don’t want ya’ll thinking I’m gross!!
