Dogs and Puppies

My opinion: Ridiculous, Kate will freak out from the mess and German Shepard’s need a lot of training, which honestly, who’s going to give those dogs the training they need? Plus, I don’t think a reputable breeder would give 2 puppies to an inexperienced owner. It sounds like a backyard breeder or a puppy mill looking for attention.

We have a 4 yr. old german shepard that we love. She was getting bored though as the kids started school so we decided to get a 6 wk. old puppy (lab/shepard mix) for her to play with. When they are outside they seem to play with each other and have fun. Inside our older dog is growling and baring her teeth at the puppy because the puppy wants to constantly play, while our older dog wants to be left alone to some extent. Our older dog is especially upset by any attention my husband shows the puppy as he is her alpha male. ALso sometimes our older dog seems somewhat afraid to go near the puppy indoors, which seems odd since she is a lot bigger and stronger than this little puppy. any hints at how to help this situation?
