richardmsteed asked: My Weimaraner is often emptying her anal glands indoors, normally when she is asleep. She has no infection or distress. She is on a good dry dog food, but her stools are quite loose. I have heard that making the stools harder would be good for this problem, and increase the expulsion of the anal gland whilst defacating. What can I add to her food to help this?

( -_- ) asked: So our dog eats his food crazy fast. And he doesn’t like to chew it, he just swallows it. So we are looking for big pieces that he has to chew. The biggest I’ve found so far is Science Diet large breed dog food. They are sphere pieces that are maybe like 3/4 of an inch diameter. He chews maybe half and swallows the rest. It’s definitely better than before, but still not great. Is there a dog food that has really big pieces so dogs have to chew it? Thanks.

Mary C asked: Occasionally, I feed my dog table food. At first, he eat both dog food and table food. Now lately, it seems that he is rejecting the dog food completely. How do I get him to go back to the dog food?

iBePWNIN ♥AdoraBull♥ asked: I want a good dry food. Not sure which is the best for a giant breed puppy, though.
Thanks in advance. =]
I don’t mind how much it costs. I’ll buy the most expensive stuff if I need to.
I know giant breeds eat ALOT.
I live in the UK, so it would be good to get a food I can buy in my local pet stores.
Vet Tech, is that because of how much protein is in puppy food?
What would you reccomend then?

Doggie, Want to go for a walk? asked: This is specifically for a small breed dog My friend feeds her adult dogs puppy food along with her 9 month old puppy. All the dogs are the Havanese breed. At first she was feeding the 9 month old adult food for a while because of the other adult dogs. Now she is feeding them all puppy food. I tried to tell her it’s not good but she doesn’t believe me. So what will it do?

Baby Lexi - due Jan 12th asked: We share the same garden as our neighbours and they have 2 massive apple trees in the garden and my dogs are constantly pulling apples off which grow on the bottom of the tree they love eating them that they are hardly touching their dog food. It us quite ammusing watching them pull the apples off though.
I hate to spoil their fun but they are not eating their food.

Volunteer1988 asked: More specifically, whats in dog treats thats so different from regular dog food, and makes dogs freak over their treats? Why isnt this just added to regular dog food to make it more appealing to dogs, not that it really matters?

My mom says I’m an idiot for feeding my dog table food! She says I’ll eventually kill him! This sounds absolutely lame to me, or am I lame?
