Moterpickle asked: I currently have a 1yo toy papillon that is very nice, playful and loving. The issue is that she barks when ever somebody enters the house. I am looking to adopt my own dog, for this papillon is the family dog. I am a 19yo male who lives at home. I haVe always been a fan of doberman but fear they are too aggressive to live with a small dog such as my papillon. Any suggestions or advice?

californiagurl567 asked: I want to adopt a small dog that is children friendly. What kinda dog would be perfect. I do not want one of those dogs who have the pointy ears and is in legally blonde. Please tell me what dogs would be perfect.

eastcoastdebra asked: I have been looking at websites for dog adoption, but some of the applications are crazy. One wanted to call my supervisor at work to verify my income, poistion, how long with the company, and get a reference. Another one wanted to do a home inspection, and I had to agree to “follow-up visits, which will sometimes be unannounced, anytime between 8am and 9pm” after adopting the dog.One wanted my Driver’s lic number and social security number. Yet another wanted a credit/backround check!!I have had dogs before, I understand pet ownership is not for everyone, but I really think these organizations, while I am sure they mean well, are overdoing it. I love dogs, but I will not agree to someone causing a problem for me at my job (my boss might think I am looking for another job)or showing up at my house anytime they want and demand to reinspect my house and see my dog.

grateful living asked: We are in the early stages of making plans to adopt a dog. We are aware that adopting means we will most likely get a mixed breed but we have heard conflicting info on which dogs are compatible with young children.
The children are old enough to respect a dog but just the same we want a dog that will play but not too rough.
I’m just looking for some ideas so when it is time to start looking we know which dogs to rule out.
