My dogs smack before they fall asleep and I was wondering why. Anybody got a reasonable answer?

What do you mean, they smack? Smack their lips? Smack their heads on the floor? Please give more detail.

dogs tend to walk in circles and tred back and forth because of a scent they are on to. im not too sure about the collapsing thing but maybe its just that the dog is tired and crashs

It’s probably the same answer as “why do dogs snore?”–
It’s just something they do. One of life’s little mysteries.

well its normal. i dont have an answer as to why they do it, maybe its an instinct thing, but my jack russell does it as well and so does my brothers jack russell. and they both also walk around in circles before they settle down.
so to keep it short n sweet, its nothing to worry about it. its jus one of those cute things they do lol

Sorry, I don’t know either, I’d just like to add that one of my dogs does the same… she lies down, licks her nose and lips for awhile, and falls asleep.
