Is it unusual for my dogs to get stuck together when the male is neutered?
My female dog is in heat and this morning I found them stuck together. This wouldn’t seem unusual to me except my male dog is already fixed. I am confused, I thought that this only happened if they were able to breed? Can my female get pregnant? Could something have gone wrong in my males dogs surgery?

Well I’ve seen male dogs mount female dogs just because, the female was not in heat. So it can happen. Although I guess it is possible that something could have been left “intact” by accident. I’m not a vet, but I guess if a man’s tubes can grow back together is it possible for a dogs?

It’s not totally unusual…but I’d watch how much he is obsessed with humping and tell the vet….usually they lose the drive…but at the dogpark I see males humping other males…

I’ve had the same worries as yourself. However my vet advised me that not only will a male dog thats been neutered act out when a female is in heat, also will blood flow to his..u know..will be uninterupted. The neutering process is castration. Therefore being ’stuck’ together is always possible. However thankfully temporary. If I’m wrong..i’ll buy a puppy.

a neutered male can and will tie with a female in heat.
No, he cant get her pregnant.

nothing could have gone wrong with the surgery. please describe what you mean by being stuck together. if find it very unlikely that a castrated male could even form a knot.
