You shouldn't have breed in the first place, there are millions of goldens sitting in shelters that are about to be put to sleep, thanks for contributing to the problem.

Goldens can have up to 10 pups or more in any litter.
I have found that 6 to 9 pups is the norm for a first litter.

There have been some surprises but then unless you had x-rays done you will never really know until she is done!
I would prepair for 6 to 9 but dont be surprised if there are more ok.

Good luck!

Schedule an ultrasound with your vet. He/she will be able to give you an idea of how many pups she is carrying and if they think she will have any problems or at least tell you what you need to look for.

golden retriever? i'd say about 5-6. depends on the dog itself. she could have up to 8. i'd prepare yourself for a bunch, rather than a few or a couple.

The general amount is about 6 - 10 puppies, but if you want to get an exact amount, go to your vet and ask to get an x-ray. Then the vet can tell you exactly how many puppies will be born.
Good luck with your puppies!

It's usually from about 4 - 6 puppies, but it's not unusual for them to have a few more.

Congratulations on your dog being pregnant, too! Good luck!
