How long is it until puppies open their eyes and start walking?

My dog had her puppies 2 weeks ago. We’ve never had a liter before and I’m unsure when they open their eyes and start walking. Also, when do they need to be weened from the mom?

Puppies’ eyes start to open as tiny slits between 10 - 14 days. Their ears open soon after that. They’ll be wobbling around on all 4 feet by the time they’re 3 weeks old. At 4 weeks, you should be offering them dry puppy food moistened with warm water 2 - 3 times a day. Give them about 15 minutes to eat, then feed any left-overs to the dam. They also need to be offered fresh water at this time. The mother will have them weaned when they’re 6 weeks old.

Please spay your dog. There are too many dogs without homes as it is. Don’t continue to be a backyard breeder.

Normally on day 10 for there eyes to open and can walk around 2 weeks. They need to be weaned around 6-7 weeks for medium to giant breeds and for smaller breeds 8-11 weeks for weaning from mom.
