a ball, a few tug toys,and some rubber treat toys should help. one thing i did when i had a puppy litter to take care of was, take them out before i went to work and run &play with them for 1/2 hour.i also hired a neihbor kid to help out. he was inexpensive, and liked to play with the puppies.it also helped to socialize them towards children. annette b

When I have puppies, I try to change out their play things on a daily basis to keep them interested. If they are indoors, make sure they have a large area to play. I usually get some roll out flooring ($20 from Home Depot) and put up a couple of exercise pens hooked together on top. This will give them an area roughly 6′x10′. Easy to clean. I will put in things like clean milk jugs, large plastic balls (like they have in bins at the grocery store for $1), stuffed animals (you can get cheap at yard sales and if they are torn up, you are not out a lot - but wash first), plastic soda bottles, small pieces of carpet (to learn different textures), paper to rip up, kongs with a little peanutbutter inside, etc. You are trying to give the puppies as many different - safe - things that you can to let them explore textures, etc. Also, play music or the tv in order to get them used to noise. Good, chewy things are good too. I like to take come carrots, zuccinni, etc and freeze it in water (in the bottom of a jug) and put that in a water bowl. they will lick the ice until they free the carrot or other veggie or fruit and then chew on it. safer than rawhides and much better for them. use your imagination. as long as it is safe and you do not mind it being destroyed, give it to them. You can always clean up the pieces later!! K G

chew toys, or similar items, puppies will normally play with each other. they wrestle and stuff with their siblings. the pups i had-liter of 13-were a wrestling bunch! we gave them chew toys, blankets, and things like that, it helped them not beat each other up, but i hope it helps for you! lots of luck.
