How do I get my puppie to stop eating frogs? Does anyone else have this problem?
She is a 3 month old malta-poo… For some reason she LOVES to eat them. Near impossible for me to stop her either… I will be walking her and a frog will jump right by her she will snag it and chew it down as fast as possible… the whole thing happeneds in about 10 seconds… Sometimes she gets frogs that are already dead! and eats them…
I am not so worried about her health because I talked about it with the vet, she said while this is not her preferred diet, it wont kill her (because of the frog types that live in our area)
Any advice is welcomed on how to stop her.
I have tried spraying the frogs with bitter apple spray but I just cant get ‘em all
(Just kidding about that haha)

uum. she will grow out of this stage of hers. on rainy days when we come out at night there are frogs all over, but my dog doesnt neccasarily eat them she chases them. but i would just keep your dog inside on wet humid days except for pody.

Warts on the month is not attractive.
I’ve seen it before from dog who would eat frogs.
Don’t know if there is a remedy once they start to grow.
Gross,very gross.
And you don’t want that for your sweet malt-poo,now do you?

If she like it let it be cos what doesn’t harm you make you fat.

I think she will grow out of it…..I have a pond in my garden, 20-30 bull frogs & 5 dogs all different breeds. They ignore the frogs..Try distracting her with something else, keep her on a short leash & just give her leash a gentle tug & say no…She`s a puppy & probably playing. I would start training her to ignore them & YOU control her HER BEHAVIOUR..

Sounds like a good way to save money on dog food.

It’s kinda cute - I wouldn’t bother - it’s not hurting her.
