How can I stop my puppies from walking in front of my feet?

I have 2 four month old puppies but they love to walk in front of my feet and trip me. Anyone have any tips on how I can get them to either walk on the side of me or behind me?

Walk more carefully…..they r puppies.

If thats your only problem consider yourself lucky, watch where you walk, your supposed to be smarter than them

HA! you can’t stop it, it’s just what they do for life. The same with my cat. you won’t belive how many times my cats make me tripped
Oh, i know you can put them in a cage or tie them

Work with them individually on heel teach then to heel where you want them but it would be best to find a good trainer to help you work on it other than that get a collar that fits high on the neck so you can hold the leash up and guide them where you want them loose any tension when they are where you want them and pull up a little when they are going in front of you. This won’t work with a determined puppy but for some puppies it works very well it makes them a little uncomfortable without jerking them all over the place if it doesn’t work go to obedience class or find a good video that shows you how to teach heel

keep a collection of squeaky toys on the counter, and throw them behind you.
it is a puppy’s job to be in the absolute worst possible spot at all times, and do the most death defying things possible. Puppies, and toddlers.

You start teaching them to walk on a leash and walk beside you. When they are small puppies you walk shuffling your feet and gently move them out of your way so they realize that they are in the way. They’ll quickly learn that they are right in front of you and they are going to get bumped.

All you do around the house is shuffle, not walk. Even so, you might accidentally kick one every now and then, which won’t damage them but maybe just might teach them to keep a bit further.
Though they are not officially old enough for a training school, you could start to train them. Use a halter leash. Keeping it short and your arm stretched behind you, you can keep the pups behind you, too. Let them get up as close as your left heel, while saying HEEL, then praise and pet them. After a while they will move there by themselves. Also you can train them to sit on command, by saying SIT while pushing them down to a sitting position.
If they are really crazy about you, a big cuddle would be sufficient reward; otherwise give tiny treat biscuits for each time they do it right. Once they will sit, you can tell them to sit when they run towards you (I bet they come when called without any special training!!!especially if you’re holding food).
You don’t have to keep to the standard commands, you could invent one called BEHIND so they can walk free, not to heel, but not in front of you.
Getting through to them, seeing the light go on in their eyes when they get what you mean, is part of the pleasure of having young pets. Enjoy.

Train them. You need to start training them separately and start doing things with them separately otherwise they’ll bond to each other and not to you and training will be 100% more difficult.
Playtime and such is OK but the more time they spend away from each other the easier it’ll be in the future as you’ll have two independent dogs instead of two dogs that can’t be away from each other - which can be very stressful.
At 4 months old they haven’t got a CLUE as to where they should walk. That’s your job to teach them. Sign up for classes and do your ‘homework’ in between classes…
