One of these ways is by lifing one of the legs when he/she urinates. It is to show who is boss, and that whatever it is that he/she peed on is "their land". Another thing you may notice (if you have two dogs) is that often one will stand over the other-that is another sign of dominance and "ownership" that one dog has over another dog.
