All dogs shed. So I guess that means you shouldn’t get a dog. Crysania

All dogs shed. You should google breed quizzes, because all you’ve told us is picky things like what it has to look like. Appearance isnt why people give dogs up 98% of the time, it’s behavior. We know nothing about the kind of behavior you want ,and your exercise ability, which can affect the behavior of the dog.
A good breed quiz is what you need. •Kansas• •Girl•

Dogs are a huge responsibility. We no nothing of your living situation. Sit down ask yourself questions like
How much time I can spend with the dog?
How much exercise?
Do I have the money to properly care for a dog.
Have I done enough research about feeding, grooming, training, housebreaking?
After that go to an animal shelter and talk to the staff about the characteristics of the dogs. Starlight

Boxers are medium sized and hardley shed at all because their coat is so thin and tight to their body. I have a beagle, ive had her since she was 3 months and now shes 2 years. Beagles are great dogs but they shed more then you would think. But any dos requiers a lot of your time and attention. Getting a puppy is exactly like having a baby. They wanna play, you have to feed it the right food, you have to pottytrain it. Its a lot of responsiblilty. So make sure your family is ready to get one, so you dont just get a puppy, decide its too much work, and give it away. Good Luck(: Jonna(:

Take these dog breed selector quizzes and hopefully you’ll find your perfect match. Maybe you’ll find a common answer with each one and you’ll decide, “That’s the one!”
Best of luck!!! ♥ Erin ♥ (Keeshond Lover)

Not all dogs shed, but all dogs have a natural instinct to bark, some more than others. A poodle doesnt shed, but you dont like them, a pug is a small dog, and they shed (or moult). A labrador sheds profusely, even more than a long haired breed.
Any dog is a big responsibility, they all need at least ‘weekly’ brushing. Any dog that doesnt shed will have to be clipped every six weeks, and they all have to be trained, exercised, fed and mentally stimulated, if you dont have the time for all that, you shouldnt get a dog. jules77

Okay first of all, there is no really no specific breed that does not bark alot or yap. There is a large variation of what you consider to be a medium size dog. Really this all depends on what you like, and how well you train the dog, or have it trained. You put on there Lab, does this mean that this is the size you are looking for? If this is the case, Labs are not what I would consider to be a medium size dog. Other factors come into play as well, such as where you live, apartment, house, condo, do you have a fenced yard? Then you also have the fact that some dogs need more exercise than others as well. Do you plan on taking this dog with you places that you go? Alot of factors come into play, when deciding what type of dog you really want. Then most people that want a dog know what kind they want and are willing to learn everything about the breed and are in it for the long haul. NO dog is easy. PUPPIES are really cute and that is where alot of people fall into getting one and really don’t have a clue. When getting a dog you need to get a puppy, but make sure that it is the breed that you want. Then you can also go to the pound and adopt. There are alot of excellent dogs at the pound that are suitable for kids. I have been breeding dogs for over 20 years and have had many breeds. As of this time I only breed one breed and I am not disclosing this breed as it is a very contreversial issue. One breed however that I really enjoyed breeding was the Shih-Tzu. The Shih-Tzu makes a wonderful pet for families with kids, and does not shed. The main thing though of this breed is that you do have to groom them. They are prone to allergies, and skin problems though as well. When purchasing a Shih-Tzu you need to make sure that you find a reputable breeder that has not had skin or allergy problems in there bloodline. Check references of past puppies sold, and so forth. I hope this helps a little, if you have any questions please feel free to email me and we can chat. sandmkennels
