it’s probably not rabies, but if your dog is otherwise acting normal I’d say no need to worry, if it keeps persisting take your dog to the vet. Safest bet. Zouk

Well with the rabies..pretty much white foaming at the mouth. Could be something wrong with his teeth or the saliva glands. Take him to a vet and have him checked out. Alison

He might have an infection in the mouth if its really foamy looking. I would give him LOTS of water and actually a toasted peice of toast will dry up some of the extra saliva in the mouth.Just make sure he is drinking a alot and if it continues for 2 more days take him to the vet. dylan_sprouse_pink

Look in his mouth to make sure there isn’t a foreign object in the roof of the mouth, under the tongue or stuck in his teeth. That could cause that. manetna2

  19. andie Says:

take him to the vet NOW. it could be an allergc reaction to something, or he could have been poisoned by somehting. if he is drooling really badly he probably is getting dehydrated and needs fluids.

the reason i am worried is because my dog had a reaction to flea repellant that made him drool excessively and the vet told me if i had waited to bring him in he could have died. andie

  20. Puppy Mummy Says:

My dog kept drooling and on examination the vet found a grass seed stuck in his throat. The drooling was because he couldn’t swallow properly.

If your dog has the right temperament completely check his mouth and throat just in case he has anything stuck. Please don’t put anything down his throat though cos if there is anything stuck you may push it further down. Just look as far down as you can

If this has been going on for a few days though I would get him to the vet sooner rather than later. Its very difficult for anyone here to give a definite answer as to the cause and you may be dealing with something quite serious here

    Good Luck Puppy Mummy
