“SO ANY DOG WOULD BE FINE!…”
Any dog would NOT be fine. Do your homework, and you’ll quickly discover that many dog breeds are not well suited to different kinds of owners and different living conditions.
You can’t figure out what breed is best for you and your lifestyle in just a few minutes. Do the research and you’ll see. Ginbail ©

whoa, honey… One thing at a time.
You need to do some research on breeds if you are going to get a purebred. Start with.
If you don’t want a shedding breed, you are pretty limited. There are some that shed less than others but poodles and bichon frize are the only ones I can think off right off the top of my head that truly do not shed.
Definitely only get one. In fact, I would consider getting a young adult rather than a pup. That way you may be able to avoid the house breaking part.
Once you settle on a breed, call your local kennel club for recommendations on breeders. Don’t get in a rush.
Good luck! zoo

I reccomend a Coton De’ Tulear. They are small, white, nd fluffy. They are generally around 10-15 lbs full grown, and they are THE BEST DOGS IN THE WORLD!! Easily trainable, and love to just curl up in your lap. I have a male, and he is the best dog. His small size makes it very easy to travel with him. They are non shedders, and hypo-allergenic. They are very expensive, only beacause they are so rare, but it is 100% worth it. Mine i 4 years old, and we are considering a second Coton, because the first is just so perfect. Go to Click on dog breeds, and it will give u a HUGE list a dogs + their profiles. The Coton De’ Tulear has long hair, but we keep our’s hair trimmed. It is much cuter when it is short. I would say start out with one, and once he is trained, and you are sure you can handle him/her you can add on to the family if u are sure you are ready. I also highly suggest rescuing one. Take a trip to the pound-you never know what you might find! Congrats on geting a puppy-hope you find the love of your life! Sweetie_Pie

Since you like golden retrievers and they do shed a lot you could try a really great tool called ” the furminator” it is a de-shedding tool that takes away all the under coat. I have a himalyan cat with extremely long hair who sheds constantly and it works. my mom uses it on her blk lab. ss_cm

Please do lots of research before you get a new puppy. This dog will be in your life for the next 12-18 years, depending on breed. Go to akc.org, there is a quiz there that will help you identify breeds that fit your lifestyle.
Try to find a local breeder of the the breed you would like to get. I would not buy a purebred puppy from a pet store or on the internet as they are probably “puppy mill” dogs and you are not getting a quality or probably a very healthy pup.
If you want to shop the internet, go to petfinder.com. There are thousands of dogs there in shelters, purebred and mix breed that need homes. You can even search by breed.
I have two shetland sheepdogs from a breeder and I adopted another on petfinder.com. He’s a wonderful little dog! Indy’smom

Please do more research on dogs and what you might want or need. I am not sure but it sounds like you are a minor and it is best if you discuss this with your parents before making any decision because they will be the ultimate ones that will be financially and legally responsible for any animal you get. There are no responsible breeders selling dogs on the internet - sorry but that is pretty much a huge red flag as a back yard greeder or puppy mill. Also, ALL warm blooded animals, dogs, people, chinchillas, goats, all shed so you will not find a non-shedding dog. Know that most that some consider ‘low shedding’ are not and actually require a lot of grooming to maintain their coats as they tend to get matted easily with their shed hair retained in their coats — they need, like you, almost daily brushing to prevent painful and often dangerous matts in their coat. You should never get more than one dog at a time and for a while after you get one shouldn’t get another as, like babies, they need time and attention that isn’t to be shared with others when they initially come to a new home (AFTER they are eight weeks old - another big red flag for a greeder or miller is getting rid of a puppy prior to this very important socialisation time)…
I recommend you have your parents do a lot more research into getting a dog and what it entails — much money, time and training — at least a ten year committement — legally responsible for any damage, harm that it might perpetrate — lots of thing for them to consider… breed is the least of your/their concerns at this point… Nancy M- Happy Holidays from Sid
