richardmsteed asked: My Weimaraner is often emptying her anal glands indoors, normally when she is asleep. She has no infection or distress. She is on a good dry dog food, but her stools are quite loose. I have heard that making the stools harder would be good for this problem, and increase the expulsion of the anal gland whilst defacating. What can I add to her food to help this?

equinegirl21 asked: Hi, this dog is a real problem and the owners dont feel they can cope with her messing everything up. She jumps up, play-bites (hard), chews everything, and generally runs around causing havoc. They’ve told her off every single time she does something wrong, but she doesnt care and just does it again. They put a muzzle of her when she play-bites, but when you take it off she just wags her tail, jumps up and bites you, because she thinks your playing. What can be done to make her behave!??

SHELTIELUVER asked: I have a 10 month old Sheltie. We’ve taken about 10 classes and she is doing wonderful except for one thing, she’s afraid of the see-saw. She’ll get on it and walk maybe a couple of steps and then just freezes. I’ve tried coaxing her with praise and putting treats every few inches to no avail! If I go to the other side and put it down for her, she will finish it but she won’t use her own weight to get it down. I’m getting frustrated! We had problems with the dog walk for a while but after she discovered she can do it, she’s a pro now! Does it just take some dogs a while to be confident about some of the obstacles? Like, some dogs hate the chute or if the tunnel is turned but she loves them! Should I try making a see-saw to practice with at home, anybody know how to make one? Oh, she isn’t afraid of the see-saw noise but the movement. Help!!!

D asked: These dogs seemed to have been best friends before the smaller one got into an accident and hurt her leg. Since the accident the smaller dog has been rehabbing the leg and it’s getting better every day.
But we’re having setbacks when the 2nd largest dog of three (the largest minds her own business and doesn’t have a problem with either of the 2) is bullying the smaller injured dog.
The medium sized dog just mauls the small dog at any random point. Some days it can be calm, and some days we’d have to separate the two.
Why is my dog picking on my injured dog?

Lauren W asked: I have a female black lab that’s about 7 and she’s a very friendly dog around other dogs and mostly all people. I was looking at getting a new puppy and I was trying to find a small dog. I was wondering if anyone knew if my dog would be ok around a male puppy that has been neutered or if she would be better around another female.
Also, my mother is very allergic to dogs. Any suggestions on short haired dogs? Or things to help with allergies to a dog with hair maybe like a poofy pomeranian?

L<3 asked: Right now I have a Puggle who does very well with other dogs and seems to be happier with other dogs so we decided we might get another. We were hoping to find a medium sized energetic low-shedding dog that is very cute and dog and cat friendly! Probably non herding because we have 2 cats. We have no idea where to start looking, so please help tell us some good breeds for us!

Garret asked: Basically I need a dog that can protect my family and I. Especially if there was a robber that wanted to rob my house. But I also need a dog that is atleast okay around children. I don’t care about grooming or anything else. Just protection and family dog. Thanks for all answers.
P.S. If there is a dog breed that lives to at least 12 years than that would be superb.

I love my Dachshie asked: I have seen so many questions in the dog section concerning so called designer dog and “teacup” puppies lately. Why on earth would anyone want to buy these overpriced mutts and runts? If you’re willing to spend thousands of dollars on a dog, why not get a healthy dog from a reputable breeder? If you want a “labradoodle” or a “bugg,” i’m sure you could find one at the pound.
At risk of this being reported as a rant, here’s a question: What is you favorite dog breed and why?
