Can anyone suggest a durable yarn to use for dog toys?

I would like crochet some dog toys for a humane society fundraiser and need to find a tough yarn that would make good toys.

    I’d go with a good solid acrylic like Red Heart, that can be thrown into the wash with no worries. Jenn

    There is a yarn on the market called Phentex and it is also nylon, and pretty much bullet proof. It goes in the washing machine very well. Pamela

    I wouldn’t recommend regular acrylic yarn because it can shred and get ingested. Try thin rope or cord made from nylon or cotton. Nylon would be more durable but cotton might work as well. Twine might work as well. Kay3535
