Dogs and Puppies

The lady I babysit for has a lil puppy(don’t know how old) that barks all day long when home alone during the day and she’s got some notices that if it doesn’t stop she’ll have to move. What are some things she can do. She’s tried a crate but the dog still barks, just letting the dog stay in her daughters room but the dog just got into the window and barked. She can’t get another dog her apartment only allows one. Someone told us to use a muzzle that you could get one that they could still drink and eat out of but can’t bark. Is this true?

We recently lost our Airedale, Piper, to cancer. We would like to get another dog soon. We are open to adopting a shelter dog, or getting a purebreed. We have 3 sons, ages, 6, 4, and 8 mos. We have lots of experience training dogs and would like a breed that is of medium size under 50 lbs, smart, friendly yet protective, and not of intense energy. We give our dogs a daily walk and have a partially fenced but small yard. What breed should we look into?

I have a small dog (4 yr old Pekingese male) and my boyfriend has a large dog (3 yr old Akita male). We would like to introduce the two and see if they could become friends. Neither dog is aggressive but the problem is the Akita is so big & the Peke is so small. We have no idea how to approach this.
They have met once - me & the Peke on one side of a fence & my boyf & the Akita on the other. The Akita got a little hyper because he was so excited to see the Peke & barked a few times. The Peke seemed scared & growled a few times whenever the Akita came close.
The Peke has been bitten by a larger dog twice before. The Akita is really playful but doesn’t know his own strength.
If anyone has any ideas or advice, I would be very grateful! Thanks!
