I have been looking at websites for dog adoption, but some of the applications are crazy. One wanted to call my supervisor at work to verify my income, poistion, how long with the company, and get a reference. Another one wanted to do a home inspection, and I had to agree to “follow-up visits, which will sometimes be unannounced, anytime between 8am and 9pm” after adopting the dog.One wanted my Driver’s lic number and social security number. Yet another wanted a credit/backround check!!I have had dogs before, I understand pet ownership is not for everyone, but I really think these organizations, while I am sure they mean well, are overdoing it. I love dogs, but I will not agree to someone causing a problem for me at my job (my boss might think I am looking for another job)or showing up at my house anytime they want and demand to reinspect my house and see my dog.

So our dog eats his food crazy fast. And he doesn’t like to chew it, he just swallows it. So we are looking for big pieces that he has to chew. The biggest I’ve found so far is Science Diet large breed dog food. They are sphere pieces that are maybe like 3/4 of an inch diameter. He chews maybe half and swallows the rest. It’s definitely better than before, but still not great. Is there a dog food that has really big pieces so dogs have to chew it? Thanks.

We just got a pound puppy, he’s a bit over a year old. I’ve never had a dog of my own before so I am quite nervous.
I am wondering how much time dogs need to spend with people each day and what kind of time they need to chill out by themselves.
How long do you leave your dog alone for? Are you able to go out to the movies and the dog is ok? Is it ok to leave a dog inside alone?

Our landlord gave us a little dog 3 years ago, now she wants it back, she says she will claim we stole it. We don’t know if they can take it away my little girl and the dog are so close to each other, the dog even sleeps next to her bed every night. How can I prove ownership of the dog?

My dog is very friendly and playful towards other dogs. I live in an apartment so the dog would only be able to go out when my husband & I take her on walks. I am wanting a female dog. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what breed would be a good breed to get? I am wanting a dog that would be no bigger than 15 lbs. when fully grown.

But if my friends dog is in our house, or we go over my brother’s house for a holiday, she’ll pee on the rug. Does anyone else have this problem? I guess she’s jealous or something. We recently built a nice fenced area in the back yard for our dog to go potty in. We have a 3 year old boy that likes to play in the back yard but the dog leaves big land mines everywhere and is killing the grass with his pee spots. So we built the dog run for the dog to do his business but he absolutely will not go potty when he’s in there. What do we need to do to get him to go?!?!?!
