Dogs and Puppies

Im looking to buy a really cool dog for my first dog. Something that is sort of medium in size that can be very loyal and playful. I have a golden retriever and i love it so maybe something a little bit smaller. Jack russel terriers are also really cool, so maybe something a little bigger. So in between those two is my range, and those are the biggest and smallest sizes of dogs i will go buy.

Next month I want to buy a baked dog food and they claim that dogs eat a significantly smaller amount of baked food than extruded dog food. Has anyone experienced this? Because people always say dogs eat less of quality dog food over store-brand, and I’ve found that not true at all. Just want to be sure before I pay the extra $30!

My dog is really sweet and loving towards all humans, but really seems to hate other dogs. She always try to attack them on walks and I am not sure what is causing this. She is only a Jack Russel, and she is a female so we are worried that she might get injured one day by another dog. She has never even tried to bite any humans. We got her from the pound, and she is about 2 years old. I am thinking about taking her to a training school, to socialize with other dogs. Do you think I should?

We have had one Maltese (male) for about three years now who does not like to be near other dogs or new people - He is very playful and sociable with my husband and me, but the minute he is around another dog or new people, his mood changes. He shys away from people and will not go near other dogs. He loves little kids and will eventually go up to people as he gets to “know” them. However, the “being around other dogs” issue has not gone away at all. No matter how many times he is around other dogs (even the same ones over and over), he freaks out and does not want to have anything to do with them. Recently, we added a new puppy (a female maltese - 10 weeks) to our family to help him out with this problem. I would like him to be used to and play with other dogs. So far, this is not working. Since we got her (about 2 days ago), he will not eat or play with us like he usually does.

Before we got our puppy, our two cats were fine with our older dog. They got along and they even played with eachother. But now since we got our puppy the cats have been hissing and running away from the puppy and our older dog. And because they keep running from them, the dogs go CRAZY and bark and whine and chase them all around the yard! How can i get them to live in peace??!!

I have to go to court because my dogs are in a kennel and some kids were throwing sticks and rocks at them and they the kids got bit by the dogs. Am I liable for that and will they kill my dogs?
My kennel sits 35 feet onto my property from the road and the kids have to come onto my property and the dogs were inside the kennel being teased by the kids and then the kids let them out of the kennel and were still on my property when they got bit! So does that still make me liable?

My neighbors dog keeps digging into our yard. My two dogs dig on our side of the fence to help him get into the yard. I have invited my neighbors dog to come over and play but his owner doesn’t seem interested. I have tried to fill the holes with their feces, but that doesn’t seem to work. I have to stick big ugly rocks and wood into the holes to get them to stop. Any advice?

I live in a neiborhood where more than 50% of people have dogs. More and more people are buying dogs and letting them outside without leashes and chains while they are inside, or when they are not even there. Just last week, I almost got attacked by a dog that ran across the street to attack me while I was walking. A majority of the dogs are big, but even the small ones try to attack me. What is the best way to protect yourself from dogs when walking? Any tips or advice? Thank you.

My dog Roxy always whines and scratches my legs when she sees a new dog that she cant get to. She has always done this only now it is getting a little old. What can i do to make her more calm when around other dogs?Is it possible?
She is socialized she just gets fixated with new dogs during walks.
Jerking the leash is a little extreme cant that damage her neck?I think i’ll stick with the treats.
