I have a 6 year old Boarder Collie bitch, she was once owned by a breader but had a large litter when she was about 18months. Due to a complication the breader had to have her spayed. So she was no good as a breeding dog thats how I managed to come bye her. The problem that she has is she can’t stand any small yapie dogs barking at her. She has a tendancy to first go into the stalk and then charge, she has nipped on a few ocasions but fortunatly for me the other owner presumed that it was their dog who was the agresser. Unfortunatly she is doing this more and more often and not with just small dogs now. On the hole she is a very smart dog and for the most time she is very obediant. Is there anything that i should be doing to stop this small spat of aggresion in my dog.

I have a golden retriever mix. She used to be a very timid, submissive(to all other dogs) stray. Since my family and I rescued her she has totally come out of her shell and now is friendly to even strangers. Where I live dogs are off leash mostly and my dog is obediant and follows me and does what I tell her to do. After we fostered different puppies she realized that she could be dominant over them. Growled at them if they got too close to her food, nipped at them if they wanted to play and she didn’t, etc. Over time she has gotten it into her head that submissive puppies she wants to attack, and if a dog runs away when she runs at it she’ll chase after it growling and attack. However if the dog reacts differently and acts aloof to her she will sniff the dog politely and walk away and when she sees it again she’ll dance all around it and greet it enthusiastically. How do I change this behavior? Of course I can keep her on a leash and I do, but I want to change it not just stop it.
She’s such a great dog other than this and I love her a ton. She’s quick to learn tricks and to obey. When she gets used to a dog she’s nice to it. We still foster puppies and once she knows the puppy then she’s fine with it. But it she gets to know another puppy by attacking it every time she sees it she comes to hate that puppy and only want to attack it and be stupid some more.
And she doesn’t just attack dogs in her yard. Actually mostly it’s in neutral territory or even in the territory of the other dog, but the other dog is too timid or submissive to be bold enough to act like it’s in its own territory or is intimidated my my rather large dog.

Branden asked: My bigger dog (Lucky) always beats-up other dogs and harms them severely (I don’t know why but Lucky is a tough fighter). And my chihuahua just cusses out other dogs and refuses to have anything to do with other dogs.
The only dogs they can get along with are each other. What are some ways I can get my dogs to start having friends?

little buddy asked:
I have an eight month old male border collie who isn’t fixed. Lately when we go to the park, he is all over other dogs. When I clap my hands and say “no” he doesn’t stop like he would in most circumstances. I usually have to physically pull him off whoever he happens to be taking advantage of at the time. He’s a great dog, really good natured. This is really his only behavioral “problem.” After I pull him off, I try to sit him down and sort of have him calm down, but he goes right back to it when he’s done with his “time-out.” It sucks. Is the only solution to this having him neutered? We were kind of hoping for some cute little pups in the future, but this behavior is really annoying. Any suggestions?

I have 2 timid golden retrievers and neither barks, One is 5 and the other 2 years old. They are wonderful dogs, but have never barked. While I don’t expect them to be guard dogs, I would like them to make some noise when people come to my house.

tool152 asked: My pomeranian puppy is hilarious sometimes when he has to do his #2.
He searches for about 3 minutes throughout the yard for a perfect place to poop. Earlier today he finally found a place after like 2 minutes and he fell over and had to find a new place
Do/Did your puppies do this aswell?

The puppies are Cavalier King Charles Spaniel purebreds, and on’s male, one’s female. If you have any tips on crate training, obedience training, or even just day-to-day life, anything would help before we pick them up on Thursday when they’re 8 weeks old.

My dog had her puppies 2 weeks ago. We’ve never had a liter before and I’m unsure when they open their eyes and start walking. Also, when do they need to be weened from the mom?

We have 2 puppies, a Shih Tzu and Puggle. They are both girls and both 8 wks old. They like each other and play, pounce, nibble each other, wrestle, roll, etc. Sometimes they really go at it and bite each other and yelp and bark. When should we intervene and stop it, or is this still play. They also lay down together and sleep together, eat together, drink together, etc. Just don’t want them to hurt each other. Thanks!

your mom asked:
I have an 8 month old rescue who was the original digger who would only dig under the fence to get next door to play with the neighbors dog. I’ve since adopted 2 other sister puppies who are now 4 months old. Now all 3 are digging every where! Along my house, in the middle of the yard, beside my patio and under the fence on all 3 sides!!! This morning 2 of them got out of the yard when they were out doing their morning duties in less than 10 minutes! Now I’m so afraid they’re going to get lost or hurt. They are all inside dogs that are only out to do their business and to play when I’m outside with them. I’m about to call a cement company and just have them pour a slab on my entire backyard. They get lots of love and attention, have plenty of chew toys, go on walks and car rides. I’ve put their “droppings” in the holes, put bricks and wood along the fence and just don’t know what else to try. Any useful suggestions would be appreciated.
the 8 month old is a boxer/lab/heinz 57 mix and the 2- 4 month olds are rott/shepard mix.
